Hope nails and my comeback

Oh man, it's been so long since I posted any new nail art I've almost forgotten what it's like!

I told y'all I got some new nail goodies and I'm gonna tell you what I got. Acrylic paints, brushes and water soluble ink. I'm a super fan! Well maybe not the ink so far, it's a little harder to work with than I thought so far. The reason for the ink and what am I doin with it? Stamping! Think how much easier it would be if you could just wipe off a messed up or misplaced stamp with water than it is with remover. Soooo much easier! It's not as opaque as I wanted but it's still a learning process. Anywho, the paints. Both harder and easier than I thought they would be. For this mani I used white acrylic paint with a little bit of pink water soluble ink (cuz how did I seriously not buy pink acrylic paint?!). But anywho, I used black acrylic paint for my tips. Harder than I thought as far as that goes but easier to do the ribbons than I thought.

I have more pics but they don't want to upload correctly :( The pinkish hint on my nail bed is Savvy USA Blush and the rhinestones were sent to me by a friend :) I put an extra coat of the Savvy on over the rhinestones to try to keep them on better but it turned out to be a bad idea. It got all bubbly. Looked way better before that!

Here's a terrible pic (sorry old camera) of just the tips. Acrylic paint dries matte and it looked pretty cool.

This mani is all about hope to me. The black because it's a dark time, the rhinestones because just because you feel like shit you are still beautiful.

That's it for this post, it feels great to be back though! I can't wait to play some more with my paints and such. AND it's getting closer to Halloween, yay! Can't wait to try some of my fun holiday stamps :D

As always, thanks for stopping by :)

Yet another update

So once again I bring you an update :)

I'm not working as much as I was anymore and I actually have some free time. About a month ago my camera broke which is why nobody has seen anything from me :( Now that I'm finally getting re-established in life I got a new one :)

I'm pretty thrilled with it so far! Well at least the specs part since as I type this the battery is in the charging dock. It's way better than my last one. Interested in specs? I'll post them at the bottom :)

Anywho I have a super cute mani on right now that I love! Pics tomorrow, yeah? It's for breast cancer awareness. I also got some fantastic goodies since I've been offline so I'm going to work on an updated stash post. If you follow my facebook page then you already know one of the  things I got.

Here are a couple pics I took with the old camera:

As you can see the camera isn't all that great anymore lol. Mostly its the screen that's screwed because it's dark as midnight and I can't see anything with it. So that's what you get lol.

Anywho that's enough chatter for now! As always, thanks for stopping by :)

Specs on the new camera:
Fujifilm Finepix XP50
14 MP
5x zoom
2.7" LCD
Optical Image Stabilization
360 degree Motion Panorama
Waterproof (can actually take underwater pics!)
Shockproof (yay won't break when I drop this one lol)
Freezeproof (cuz now I live in Iowa lol)
Dustproof
Can take full HD pics and video.

My Husband Ate All My Ice Cream's 2nd blogiversary and giveaway!

My Husband Ate All My Ice Cream is celebrating her 2 year blog-o-versary this week! To celebrate, she's holding a giveaway event for a custom, made-to-measure corset from Booby Trapp Corsets in England! Here is her review on the one she received!
I have a million corsets. It's kind of like an obsession. I don't even remember how it happened, but one day I stumbled across this Facebook page (if you clicked the link, make sure to like the page and tell her 'My Husband Ate All My Ice Cream' sent you!), and I fell in love. Then I realized... I have all these corsets sitting around, but I don't LOVE any of them. There's some sort of issue with each one, whether it be ill-fitting, not very good quality, no modesty panel (the fabric panel that is behind the laces), etc. And while they were cute, none really gave me that figure I was looking for. I messaged the company, and asked about doing a review of one, just to see what the difference, if any, there really was when a corset was handmade, and made custom to your measurements. It was totally by surprise that she agreed, and even said she'd do a giveaway for one as well!
Some of the styles available from Booby Trapp Corsets
Then came the painstaking part. I had to decide what I wanted! She has a TON of options as far as cut, style, and fabrics:
This isn't even all of the options. She gets in all kinds of fabric all the time, and some, she only has enough to do ONE corset in. So you'd be the only person in the whole world with a corset of that fabric!
I sent her my measurements, and picked the shape of the corset I wanted from the site. I was worried though, because I picked a longer style (The Renaissance), and I'm only five feet tall, and I was worried it would be too long. But... it was no problem. Since each corset is handmade, she just used the style I wanted, and shortened it up a bit! Then came the wait... she had to make it, and it had to ship all the way from England. I was thrilled when she sent me pictures when it was all done, but it did NOT do the corset justice at all!
You guys, I can not even BELIEVE the quality of this thing. First, it has real steel boning in it, which means that it is sturdy. Then, the fabric is NOTHING like the ones you get from lingerie stores. This is much more elegant. The satin is like the fabric you would see on an expensive wedding dress. You can even tell just by holding it that it isn't cheaply made. It's heavy, just like a well made dress, and you know it's going to do the job. Being handmade, you'd expect to see a loose thread here or there. I inspected it thoroughly and couldn't find a SINGLE one. I even pulled at the seams to see how sturdy it was and it didn't budge. In the pic above, on the bottom row, check out the third picture. That is the inside of the corset. That band is on both sides of the corset, right at your natural waistline, and it really helps to give you that corset figure you are looking for. Don't believe me? This is what it looks like on me totally unlaced:
Here is what it looks like totally laced up:
Huge difference, right? And it was so much more comfortable than the cheap corsets too. I could also tell a huge difference in what it did for my waist and cleavage, compared to the cheap ones. One cool thing is the way they lace up. Instead of the lacing going all the way from the top to the bottom, they meet in the middle. This way, you can tighten it up from the top, and the bottom separately, ensuring that your fit is going to be perfect. She also sent me (as a surprise) an underbust corset to try out as well. I was a little nervous, because I had never worn one, and didn't really know what to think. I learned one thing really quick though: It's a lot easier to get an underbust corset REALLY tight (thank you hubby).
I think the nicest thing about corsets, besides the fact that they can make any figure look gorgeous, is that they are so universal when it comes to fashion. They can easily be dressed up or down to accommodate for any occasion.
Ladies, if you love corsets as much as I do, I am urging you to save up to buy a corset from Booby Trapp Corsets. If I could trade in the whole collection of corsets I have and only have a couple corsets from Booby Trapp Corsets instead, I would do it in a heartbeat. For the cost of a couple of the cheap ones, you can have an amazing one. One of you isn't going to have to wait until you can save up though, because Booby Trapp Corsets is giving one of you a chance to win one! The giveaway starts today, and will end on October 2, 2012, at 11:59 PM. The lucky winner will get to customize their very own made-to-order (or 'bespoke', as they call it overseas) corset! It's super easy to enter, and all entries will be verified before a winner is announced! If you don't see the rafflecopter form below, just refresh the page!

Where the eff have I been?!

I'm going to tell you where I've been. First of all I want to say I'm sorry for mostly disappearing. At the end of July the bf and I parted ways. Combination of things but one of the biggest was that I wasn't able to find a job where I was living.

As a result I moved somewhere else and have been staying with some friends. I have not one but two jobs and I'm feeling a lot better about things.

I was a huge mess when I first got here due to the breakup and some other things and its been very hard to actually sit here and write something. If you've ever put something off you know it also tends to get harder and turn into something bigger the longer you put it off. See I was trying to make sure I was still posting but it just felt so forced, like I wasn't really talking to you guys. I was just doin it because I felt I had to or needed to.

See I love posting! And I love chatting with everyone on my Facebook fanpage. So trying to force myself to do something that didn't sound like talkin to someone in person made me a sad panda :(

But things are getting better now the only problem is that I don't have much time at all anymore. I've been doin my nails some though so I do have a few pics to share. I think I will be doin a separate post though for those. If you've read all this and have stuck around while I've been trying to climb out of my emotional hole then I truly want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I say it a lot but I really do love every one of you guys!

As always, thanks for stopping by :)
