Guest Post: Pinked Polish

Today we have a guest post from Melissa over at Pinked Polish!

Hi Dolls:) This is Melissa from Pinked Polish, if you haven't checked out my blog you should!!! I have some really great things coming up in the near future!!!! I am super excited to be doing the guest post as it is my very first one:) I wanted to try something totally new for you guys, so I decided on gradient with a stamp. Well my hubby chose the colors for this beauty, and says if he ever gets that '71 chevelle ss he is gonna paint it this blue, China Glaze "Frostbite". I ♥ this color, it is the perfect Pepsi blue!!!!

The green he chose is China Glaze "Cha Cha Cha" and it is equally noteworthy!!!!

I then stamped Cheeky plate CH16 in Silver on all my nails :)

All followed with a coat of SV (Seche Vite). Hope you guys like!!!! And a Special THANKS to Lena for letting me Guest post!!!!

I totally love it Melissa! Thanks so much for sharing with us!

Guest Post: Top Coats by datyorkLOVES

Today we have the incredibly talented and sweet Dahlia from datyorkLOVES!!! She's sharing with us her favorite topcoat and least favorite. Read on for why she loves one and hates the other :)

Boy oh boy am I nervous! This is my first time posting as a guest on a blog. Before I get started I want to thank Lena for being a great host and I also want to thank and hope I don’t scare away you, Lena Loves Nails followers.

Hello! I’m Dahlia from datyorkLOVES! I’m a ball of nerves and excitement but enough of the small talk and let’s get into it. I’m going to jump into the good stufftop coats. I started blogging a little over a year ago but I’ve been doing my own nails for YEARS! Throughout the years I have made endless amounts of mistakes and with those mistakes I’ve given birth to many successes, one of them being a top coat. I have found my favorite and least favorite, both of which I will share with you today.

Favorite
Pro FX
Quick Dry
High Gloss Top Coat
Seche Rapidement
(Can be found at WalMart!)

Why this is the ONLY top coat I use.
1. It dries fast and flattens all of your layers. This is HUGE if you do a lot of layering or nail art designs.
2. Perfect formulation!
3. It’s CHEAP, yes I said CHEAP! This 2.5 FL. OZ. bottle is under $5!! Ladies I don’t think it gets better than that.
One of the Cons of this polish is its size which doesn’t always allow it to fit in displays or stands, but that’s not THAT big of a deal, right?

Least Favorite
L.A. Colors Color Craze Nail Polish
Top Coat

Why this polish is going bye- bye!
1. Drying time iswell I’m not sure because it takes hours and even when you think it’s dry it’s not. For example when you put lotion on it will smear off your nail. I have noticed this happens in pool water, with soap, and salt water (beach). I am not sure why but I know why I won’t be using it anymore.
2. Sticky, unless you are looking for a polish that will stick to anything clothing, bedding, etc., this is probably one you should skip.

Have you tried either of them? What has your experience been?

Below you will find photos of the two.
Thanks again for reading and to Lena for hosting. I hope to interact with you and maybe even see you on my blog
datyorkLOVES or SassyNails.

Thanks so much Dahlia for sharing with us, I don't know about you guys but I want to try it out now! Make sure you pop over to her blog and Facebook and check her out :)
As always, thanks for stopping by :)

Guest Post: Frugal Polish's Saran Wrap Mani

Today we have a guest post from the super awesome Alyssa over at Frugal Polish

Hello Lena Loves Nails fans!

My name is Alyssa and I'm from Frugal Polish. Come take a look at my blog if you haven't already! I'm super excited to be here doing this guest post. I wanted to try something totally new, and when I was scrolling through my blog feed I discovered the Saran Wrap mani! It is a super interesting concept!

Basic Steps

  1. Precut and ball up five to six pieces of saran wrap individually into little balls.
  2. Paint your nail with a base coat
  3. Paint a base color on your nails
  4. Wait till the polish is COMPLETELY dry. If you don't, it will not work.
  5. Paint a thin coat of the secondary color on your nails.
  6. While this coat is still wet, take the balled up saran wrap and press on to your nails for about 2 seconds. Note: Do not press to hard! A light touch is all you need.
  7. Then, take it off. The polish should have a marbled effect.
  8. Apply your favorite topcoat and Voila! You have a Saran Wrap mani!
For my design, I first applied a coat of Sinful Colors Black on Black. I love this because it is a perfect one coat black! I then applied Finger Paints – Blue Raspberry Taffy and did the Saran Wrap effect. Overall, I'm pretty much in love with this mani! I love the soft water marble effect, and it is almost like a Crackle but not quite. It would be fun to try this with multiple colors too!
